YOUR BODY, THE HOST

All systems of the body are interrelated. A compromised immune system allows yeast to rapidly overwhelm the body's friendly bacteria and cause an imbalance. Candida is an opportunistic organism and can easily become the predominate organism in the intestinal tract. Healthy digestion also plays a role, for incomplete digestion leads to fermentation and putrefaction which feeds the yeast just what it needs to grow out of control. People with little or no stomach acid are at risk of the candida organisms colonizing the entire digestive tract, including the stomach. This yeast can release immunosuppressive factors which enable it to proliferate.

OTHER CAUSES….

Exposure to heavy metals such as mercury, pesticides and other chemicals, modern food preparation and preservation (including antibiotics fed to cattle and other farmed animals) all lead to proliferation of Candida. Broad-spectrum antibiotics, steroids or oral contraceptives can trigger overgrowth. Stress and refined sugar contribute to proliferation also.

Toxins from incomplete digestion, as well as from the yeast itself, result in destructive symptoms that are realized throughout the body. Bowel walls can become more permeable, allowing partially digested proteins to travel into the bloodstream. The liver, colon, kidneys and skin work together to excrete toxins from your blood. If the liver is backed up, however, hormones become toxins and remain in the blood. Our bodies will start clean up in the intestines, then the liver, kidneys and skin can clear up.

Candida Albicans affects the brain directly by producing toxic chemicals that slow down the brain, called ‘toxic chemical slowdown’. The liver cannot flush toxic chemicals that should never reach the brain if it’s already over taxed.

Once a case of yeast overgrowth is realized, a doctor is limited as to what he can do. In most cases, a change in diet and an antifungal medication are prescribed. Common conventional prescribed medications have side effects and may cause depletion of certain nutrients. Anti-fungal drugs can miss yeast hidden in recesses of the intestinal tract or in the deeper layers of mucosa that line the intestine.

After adjusting the diet so Candida yeast is deprived of and cannot feed upon sugar and simple carbs, we need to replenish nutrients and recover nutritional deficiencies caused by overgrowth. During this time alcohol, caffeine, cheese, chocolate, most fruit juices, soft drinks, yeast and wheat products should be avoided.

Fortunately this overgrowth can be battled by reestablishing dominance of healthy probiotics in your intestinal flora. As most people don’t have desirable populations of healthy bacteria, Natural Choice Products, Inc. offers high potency, patented Probiotic Blend, as well as other beneficial bacteria. These highly active formulas colonize in the intestines and multiply. Oxygen friendly bacteria eliminate anaerobic problem organisms like yeast and fungus. They produce protease and lipase to help break down protein and fat. This helps digestion and enhances synthesis of B vitamins. Probiotics affect the internal environment of the colon in such a way as to assist with the absorption of calcium, copper, iron and magnesium. They improve immune function and promote healthy cholesterol.
