What are tocotrienols?
Vitamin E, long considered "a vitamin looking for a disease," plays an essential role in maintaining the structure and function of the human nervous system as well as being a powerful antioxidant that prevents free radical damage and enhances the immune system. When Vitamin E was originally being isolated, it was proposed to call the components tocopherols. Thus, a basic class of the initial four compounds were known as alpha, beta, delta and gamma tocopherols. as a result of research, tocotrienols have been found to exert powerful antioxidant,

some of the tocotrienols have been found to be 6,000 times more potent than
alpha tocopherols, and even alpha and delta tocotrienols are between 40-200
times more potent than alpha tocopherols. An important antioxidant function of tocotrienols is in helping prevent cellular damage that may lead to cancer or other degenerative disease conditions. Due to the molecular structure of tocotrienols, they are able to easily penetrate tissues containing saturated fatty layers, such as those found in the brain and liver.
