Last January, 2004, my husband was admitted to the hospital with what we thought was just a bowel obstruction. During surgery it was found that he had a malignant tumor in the colon, colon cancer. When the doctor came out he told me that he found the tumor, that is was malignant and they had removed 21 lymph nodes to be tested. When the lab results came back it was noted that all but two nodes were negative which we were very thankful for but regardless he still had two cancerous lymph nodes. The doctor told met that in about 6-8 weeks after surgery he would be starting his chemo treatments. With all the negatives we were hearing about chemo, the side effects and all, Al was not too thrilled with the news that he would have to go through these treatments.
Through family friends we heard of Natural Choice Products and how they could greatly minimize the side effects of chemo and build up his immune system in order to get the best results possible from chemo. Therefore we decided to give these products a try. I then called the 800 number that was given to me and spoke to Vicki Gunderson, the Products Information Specialist, and told her what my husband had and that he would be starting chemo in 6-8 weeks and what would she recommend to help him get through the chemo with the best possible result. Within 1-2 days Vicki called me back and gave me her recommendations of what Al should be taking which was: EZ Pro Whey Protein, Nutritional Essentials, Protease Enzymes, Vitalase, Probiotic Blend.
When Al was released from the hospital, the first day of February, 2004, I started him on the Natural Choice Products recommended. Each morning I would get all the products ready for him to take throughout the day. Some of which I would mix with orange juice or make strawberry milkshakes with, the other products were in pill form.
Al went through 12 treatments in 6 months of a very high dose of chemo. He went every other week. His first day he would get a pump which would give him chemo 24 hours a day for 2 days, along with this he would get 2 other treatments via IV. Each time we would go for his treatment his blood would be tested and we would see his Oncologist. I would like to give you the results of Al’s 12 chemo treatments.
First of all, he had NO side effects other than feeling a bit tired 1-2 days after his treatment, his blood was perfect throughout the treatments, he never lost any hair, had no vomiting or diarrhea. He felt great, he worked. His Oncologist could not believe how well he was doing! We showed him all the products he was taking before he started treatment. He said to go ahead that there would not be any problems with these products as far as he could tell. When Al finished his treatments his Oncologist told us that he had never seen anyone go through chemo as well as Al did! He said that whatever he was doing to keep on doing it! This was in the middle of August. We had to go back to see his Oncologist in 3 months and have blood work done.
Last month Al went for his blood work and we went to see his Oncologist for the results. Well needless to say his blood was perfect and again the Oncologist was amazed! We now go back in 4 months to be checked again. Al will continue to see his Oncologist for quite a while but so far the results have been better than we ever had expected!
