In January 2006 I was extremely excited for the New Year to begin. I would be turning 50 years old in August and I wanted to be in great shape. I saw my doctor in February for my yearly physical and was both disappointed and shocked at what he had to tell me. I was diagnosed with High Blood Pressure, Hypothyroidism, and Type 2 Diabetes. My grandparents both had diabetes and, looking to the future, I refused to see myself as an insulin dependent senior citizen.
I did as my doctor recommended and ended up taking three different prescriptions. However, I continued to feel tired all the time and was still gaining weight. I wanted to exercise, but barely had the energy to make it to work and back home. Cooking dinner was exhausting. I had tried NCP before but felt I couldn’t afford to continue and went off the products. Now I felt I couldn’t afford not to take them. It certainly wouldn’t cost any more than my medications were. In April I discussed with my doctor the possibility of going off my meds and trying NCP. I had started walking and was slowly lowering my blood sugar but not enough. He said I could try it for 3 months but if there wasn’t a difference I would have to go back on them. I started reading NCP literature and started each morning with a Nutritional Essentials smoothie. I started walking every day; I watched what I ate, and kept a food journal. In addition to this I took Lipase and Multiple Digestive Enzymes. My checkup in July showed my blood sugar in the normal range. My blood pressure was normal but I was still hypothyroid. I am off all medication except the one for my thyroid and I am still working on it. The wonderful Natural Choice Products are helping me maintain my health and make turning 50 a healthier place to be.
Bless you all,
Gerri Rose
